On friday, I got an e-mail from the Knot Inc. announcing that Bride's chose Jackie Ohh... Events as The Best of The Best Wedding Coordinators in South Florida. It's such a great honor to have been chosen. Thank you to all you brides who voted for Jackie Ohh... Events.

It's a Nice Day for a WHITE Wedding...

And it was a WHITE wedding in more than one way. I invite you to enjoy some pictures from Mr. and Mrs. Devin and Carolina White's Wedding. I had a blast planning with the wedding with my two brides, Caro and her Mom Ana. From the moment I met them, Ana had a bigger wedding binder than any mother of bride in the history of my career and she was right on with everything Caro wanted for her wedding. Caro and Devin are extremely busy with work so mom acted as the project manager alongside with me. We had such a good time- many, many many laughs. Caro is texting her hubby to be while she and her bridesmaids and Matron of Honor, Mom are getting ready. Ana, right behind Caro is making a funny face and it was all caught by Miguel. Hilarious! Not to mention, they are both wearing White Robes... are you starting to see a trend yet? lol

The ceremony took place at the gorgeous and one and only Epiphany Catholic Church in Miami. What a beautiful church!

The moment they have been waiting for all of their lives- Finally Married!

The theme of this wedding was gardenesque, whispie, and utterly etherial. Over 500 white butterflies hung over the dance floor and created a stunning centerpiece for the entire room. We pinned this masterpiece from every angle n the room with a light lilac color lighting to make sure it wood out no matter what color change we would do throughout the evening.

By using various table sizes in the layout, we were able to create a formal cocktail style reception. Tables of 4,8,10, and 12 guests were strategically placed around the room to give the feeling of an intimate affair but with the premium on socializing and a true PARTY! Cro and Devin wanted the party to start immediately when the guests walked into the ballroom- they did not like the feeling of "dinner-music" of a "formal dinner structure". There were tons of delicious stations that the guests visited throughout the entire evening. Some danced right right away and others took the time to munch on some gourmet specialties that the Master Chef at Ritz Carlton created for the couple.

Each centerpeice was differnt; all having the same, garden loose feel and incorporating silver in the bowls and julep cups. White Chiavari chairs with white crinkled satin cushions complimented the white silk linens on each table. Ticked into each napkin (double sided with two white fabrics) was a custom made menu in pistachio green and a tiny nest with jordan almonds sat on top for the continued essence of being in a garden.

As guests entered the room, we used a blush-pink lighting. On four chandeliers of the room hung 24 paper lanterns in various shapes with tiny LEDs inside of each of them.

As I do for each of my couples, I walked the bride and groom (an in the case my co-planner Mom) into the ballroom with nobody in the room to get a look at everything before their guests do. They were all beyond thrilled! I was more than they had ever dreamed it would be- =).

Caro and Devin took a couple of moments to look at all of the details and even danced privately with no one around. Well nobody other than 20 or so wedding-team members lol.

As the bride and groom went to enjoy their own private cocktail, the band played a favorite latin tune and the guests entered the ballroom. It is one of my favorite parts- to hear the guests' comments as they walk into a gorgeous ballroom.

After about two an a half hours or so of dancing, eating, and partying the night away, the room slowly changed to a deep blue giving the sense of romance.

The center of the room was washed with a light lilac so even in the darkest of our color codes, it stood out! We started with a blush-pink, changes to deep amber for their first dance, and then changed back to bush-pink. Once the dinner was on it's way and guests were busy at the food stations and dancing, we changed the lighting in the room to deep plum. Then the room changed to this deep blue once the evening was in it's prime.

Some Advice: When using intelligent lighting and planning on color changes throughout the evening, gradually build up the mood of the event. even if blue is not in your spectrum of color themes, I would strongly suggest you gradually change from color to color and using blue an impact color (towards the prime of the event). Blue makes any decor looks more rich and grande. When doing deep/saturated color changes, pin spots are a necessity.

This has to be one of my favorite images from this wedding. We designed the most romantic setting for the newlyweds to sit at during their reception. Caro and Devin's table was a 6ft rectangle and they sat at their own romantic couch. "S" shaped lounge areas were placed on each side of the diamond-shaped dance floor.

As you can see, the room was constantly social, just the we planned it to be.

La Hora Loca and What A Crazy Hour It Was!

The Chomp! The Ritz designed a great Ice Sculpture inspired by where the Bride and Groom met, The Swamp. Go Gators!

The Entrance table was beautifully designed with moss, White birdcages, moss balls, and tons of candles. During dinner, mini bottles of Nicholas Feuillatte Rose Champagne. It was the main favor for each couple. They could keep it and open it to toast with the White's on their First Anniversary!

Congratulations to Caro, Devin, and their families. It was a true pleasure working alongside you planning the ultimate wedding of your dreams. Mom, we made a great team! I am waiting for our coffee date.

The Druck's Tropical Wedding

Kristen and Steve were married at the Hyatt Bonaventure in Weston on May 16th. They are such a great couple. You know when you see two people together and you know they love each other but they get along better than best friends? That is Kristen and Steve- they are constantly laughing and smiling all the time. They are the real life Bradey Bunch, but with a twist. Together they have 10 cats and dogs. When they moved in together her animals and his animals came together under the same roof - ad that's the way they all became the Druck Bunch! lol

It was such a great day for an outdoor wedding! Many of the guests were from out of town and the weather held up perfectly for them to experience the true taste of summer time in Florida.

The surprising cool as a cucumber groom. lol I had so much fun with Steve- the booger lol We spent our time cracking up and ranking on each other. That is how you know the groom feels really comfortable with you- when everything that he says is making fun of you. God times!

This bouquet was prob. one of the most beautiful bouquets I had ever seen. It was tropical and fresh yet ethereal and lush. It spelled Devine! I love freesia =)

Finally - Husband and Wife

Kristen and Steve Chose to have streamer poppers at each seat for the guests to "pop" once they were married. It made for great photographs and a great memory.

Tropical Elegance at it's best. We decided on going with a combination of all of the couples favorite things. Kristen loved the texture of satin and dupioni silk. Chartreuse green linens dressed the tables and mahogany chiavari chairs with fuchsia satin cushions complimented the "tropical look". The centrepieces were very modern yet very tropical. We used the typical birds of paradise and tropical leaves in each centerpieces. We also included bells of Ireland, Hot pink roses, and we cannot forget about the pheasant feathers. Kristen's dad hunts pheasant in their hometown of Ohio.. We surprised him and added them to each table. It was such an amazing accent and everyone got a kick out of the fact that we used them throughout the wedding. Avant Gardens did a fabulous job- every was tailored and exactly what they wanted- perfection!

Cracking up during thier first dance. I am telling you- they were always laughing. Love it!

The cake- one of the best parts of a wedding. We made sure to use all of the elements of the wedding in the cake. It was cute, fun, tropical, and did I mention delicious?

Marisa and Jesse - My Lovelies

Jesse Gill and Marisa Yeres- My Lovelies! When I first met Jesse and Marisa I had no idea that I would be blessed with meeting such amazing people. They both have the kindest, most caring hearts and the passion they have for each other is inspiring. "Riss" is a very talented producer in New York. Actually, she was a producer of the movie The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. "Yeah Jackie, no pressure at all" lol.

Each and every thank you letter I get puts tears in my eyes because I know how hard I work to make each and every one of my clients overwhelmingly happy and it is the best feeling to hear the client's happiness and thankful thoughts. I must admit, this letter made me full out cry like a baby. I wanted to share it with you before I went through the many many Outrageous details about this Fabulous wedding.

This is why I do what I do...

Dear Jackie, We’re just back from our honeymoon and though we called you to gush after the wedding, Jesse and I wanted to let you know once more, how thrilled we are with the way all of our events played out. The weekend truly surpassed our wildest expectations on every level, and though to the guests it appeared effortless, it was all of those months of brainstorming, planning and designing with you and the fabulous vendors that enabled us all to produce a weekend that knocked everyone’s socks off. You cannot know the mass volume of emails and calls we received from guests declaring it the best, warmest, most extraordinary wedding they had ever attended. Everything gelled and the energy was off the meter that Saturday night. The Biltmore was stunning, delicious and hosted our entire party of out of towners just beautifully. Your staff coordinated seamlessly with theirs to make it all flow. From the welcome boxes, to the MEGA candy table, to Rick’s gorgeous designs and Alan James’ electric guitars ON the dance floor, it was unbelievable. Everyone was elated, especially Jesse and I. We loved every detail, every moment, every dance and everybody! It was the perfect way to join our lives, and post-honeymoon, we look back recalling every detail and feel the happiness we felt that night all over again.

Your dedication to making sure that an event is reflective of your your clients vision, your organization, your smarts and when dealing with vendors, and your wonderful ideas are so impressive. Your experience shows in everything you do. We always felt we were in great, capable hands. What we miss most, no doubt, is speaking with you all the time! We miss Jackie in our day to day lives and hope to see you when next we come to Miami for a sunny weekend. You’re a joy to deal with and so much fun to be with. You bring so much happiness to so many people as you help them to realize their most important moments in style! The First Glance... Magical Moment

So happy to be finally getting married, they were ALL smiles. It was a perfect day =)

On the way to the ceremony. Marisa and Jesse opted to take pictures before the ceremony in order to be able to enjoy every second of their wedding.

The Bridal Party

<3 So In Love <3Let's talk about Breathtaking. The ceremony was designed with maximum romance in mind. The guests were seated in a horse shoe around the chuppah which was on a riser 18" above the ground. Every single guest had the best seat in the house. The entire chuppah was lined with dozens and dozens of jumbo glass cylinders with floating candles. These magnificent trees were created by Rick from Avant Gardens- it is a signature design of his and there is no wonder why- they are amazing! The amber lighting we used added that romantic glow these pictures illustrate so well.
From any and every angle, this ceremony was gorgeous.
Hand-strung orchid lays hung from various heights of the trees. I don't even want to think about how long it took Avant Gardens to string all of these lays lol. Pashminas were provided for every woman in the ceremony and custom made programs were butler passed to each gentleman.
The ceremony was planned at the perfect time- Jesse and Marisa wanted to make sure that during the ceremony it would be the perfect sunset. "Jess and Riss" were very much into every single detail being perfectly planned. We spent countless hours developing and fine tweaking every single detail of the wedding not to mention the twelve page timeline that included every detail of the wedding down the a "tee". This is right down my alley- we made a perfect match; the greatest team to make this wedding over the top spectacular.
Wow Wow Wow Stunning!
Finally after much time waiting for this moment, it is here- Mr. and Mrs. Gil. Jess and Riss' story is amazing. They had a long distance relationship for a very long time. The months sure flew by and now they are living happily ever after in New York!

It's Time Party- and did they Party... like it was 1999 lol. These entire guest list were party animals and that is an understatement. You could tell from the moment the ceremony was over- it was going to be a memorable evening.
The ballroom decor was sooooo pretty! Jess and Riss knew exactly what they wanted- well after much research at least. Together with the design team and Jess and Riss we all came up with what would be the perfect setting for a magical evening. We got so detailed, we had a 30 minute discussion on the inches between each candle on every table design. I am not kidding when I mean we are all about the details lol. It was worth every second of the planning, the decor came together perfectly.

A saturated amber was chosen for the lighting in the room. Each centerpiece was pin spotted to expose the maximum elegance and romance in the ballroom.

Jesse and Maria's invites were one of a kind letter pressed invites including actual camelot designs of their profiles. We used this element throughout the entire wedding. From the programs, coasters for the cocktail hour, and the menus, we used their camelot designs. It was such a personal touch and made the stationary unique.

A gorgeous dupioni linen in a blended color of Mauve/Grey/Mocha (trust me- this linen has a striking color- it's gorgeous) dressed the round tables that encircles the royal table on each side of the ballroom. Black glass trumpet vases sat in the middle of the table with branches in a deep fire coral color with strands of vanda orchids hanging from the branches surrounding the perimeter of the design. Avant hand strung each one of these strands. It took forever but it was so worth it, it turned out beautiful.

As the runner of these forty foot royal tables, hundreds of Ivory pillar candles sat on baroque style mercury glass holders. The romantic design came together with clusters of coral orchids (for a pop of color) imported from Holland. The velvet crest linen in champagne and black was the best compliment for this table design.

The bride and groom's first dance-so romantic! Following this dance was the second longest horrah I have ever witnessed. The groomsmen threw Jesse in the air using a huge white cloth. Thankfully Jess let me know this was going to happen- I would had an attack seeing the Groom soar from one side of the dance floor to the other side.

After an amazing custom menu was served and the after dinner lounge was opened filled with dessert stations of mini soft pretzels and churros, and let's not forget the most amazing monocratic candy station I have ever seen, they dance the entire night. Jesse even sang his own song on the stage- he made it up as he was singing it. Love ya Jess but maybe we should keep the microphone away from you lol

After a friday night welcome party on the golf course and a wedding day of endless night of insane fun-filled memories, it was time to say goodnight. A wedding none of us will defiantly never forget.

To my Lovelies, it was the most amazing journey. It was such a pleasure to be your wedding planner and now forever friend. I wish you nothing but the best in our lives. I can't wait to see you back in Miami or NYC. Love you Both!

Hello All! I am back from my vacation and although I am a little toasty from the sun, I am very excited to be back in Miami and back to work. While I was out of the country, I received an e-mail that made me smile from ear to ear, heck, I am still smiling now. It is so amazing to hear the thoughts that future brides have when they see my work and it's extrememly rewarding to know that something that I love to do has this effect on someone. Cannon/Lorence Wedding Featured in the National and Local Knot Magazine!

Aileen Cannon and Josh Lorence got married at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove on the busiest wedding day of the year in 2008. June 7th 2008 or referred to most as 6-7-8. Aileen wanted a lavender themed wedding, but the challenge was that the theme had little to do with the color lavender, it was more the smell and infusing the taste of lavender into the entire wedding. Keep reading to find out how we incorporated this relaxing yet unique theme to this fabulous wedding.

The beautiful ceremony set up. Mahogany Chiavari chairs complimented with eggplant dupioni silk cushions were placed in perfectly aligned rows in the outdoor courtyard of the Ritz Carlton. Jumbo Cylinders filled with orchids and floating candles lined the aisle. Giant arrangements consisting of orchids, hydrangeas, roses, and calla lilies greeted the guests as they walked into the courtyard and again at the beginning of the ceremony aisle. This clean, sleek chuppah was designed with white sheer fabric and coordinating flowers and strands of glitzy crystals draped from the top of the structure.

Now it's Time for the Party!

Guests were greeted with lavender infused champagne with a fresh sprig of lavender in the g;ass walking from the ceremony to the reception. This was just a little "taste" of what was to come with the infusion of lavender in the reception menu.

The couple wanted something very un-ordinary for the place card table. It was the first glimpse of the wedding the guests were going to have- it needed to be gorgeous, and it was! The save-the-date and the wedding invitation each had the symbol of a Palm Tree to signify Miami, so Rick and I ran with the theme! The bride loves coffee and wanted to incorporate it somewhere in the wedding - what a better idea than inside the vase to make the "bar" of the palm tree. Tons of lilac feather plums were tucked into the coffee beans to create the perfect palm tree. On the bottom of the base we scattered coffee beans as the "sand" and flowers and floating candles for romance. The table was not only beautiful but smelled Divine =).

Each place card was put in it's own holder of what better- a silver palm tree that the guests were able to take home as a favor from the wedding.

Eggplant, silk, dupioni linens dressed the reception tables and was complimented with mahogany chiavari chairs with eggplant cushions. Rick designed simple, yet ever elegant centerpieces with the bride's favorite flowers, cymbidium orchids and callas. The amber lighting combined with the very dim chandeliers made the ballroom glow with romance. When Aileen and Josh saw their ballroom, it blew them away- she wanted it to be a simple decor but when it came all together it looked absolutely beautiful.

Glass Beaded chargers were placed at every place setting. The pistachio po de sua napkin was folded to fit the elongated menu card. A sprig of fresh lavender was tucked into each napkin for scent and reintroducing the theme for the menu.

The first course was colorful and delicious! The second course was a champagne sorbet intermezzo with lavender infused honey and sprinkled with fresh lavender. The main entree was succulent sea bass and fillet with the choice of sauces all infused with lavender. Although it sounds like a lot of the same lavender throughout the menu - the Ritz Carlton genius chef put together the menu and everything tasted different and completely and utterly delicious.

A tiny jar of lavender honey sat on each napkin as a favor for the guests to take a little bit of the wedding home with them.

Isn't love Sweet? They truly were "Meant to Bee".

Autumn and Travis' Intimate South Beach Wedding

How amazing is this couple? Autumn and Tavis had a very intimate South Beach wedding on Sunday, May 3rd 2009 at the Palms Hotel south Beach. I have to admit, I had a first- I have never done a wedding with 39 guests before. I am so glad I had the chance to - it was so perfect! They all had a blast and everything was beyond perfect. Congrats Love Bugs- I wish you nothing but the best always.

Meet the Gorgeous Couple!

There is nothing like walking down the aisle in Prada - I Love Love SHOES =)

Rick Interian from Avant Gardens and I delivered the Peony bouquet to Autumn while she was getting ready... her expression is priceless. It needs no further explanation. You think she was happy? lol

This is what we live for.

Autumn's dress was one of the most unique gowns I had ever seen. The ribbon work on the bodice was so different and flattering and the tons of layers of fabric throughout the bottom of the dress was the perfect combination for a one-of-a-kind dress.

The Man of Honor doing his duty and holding the bouquet during the ceremony. He felt somewhat uncomfortable so he hid the bouquet behind his back. Ha Ha Caught Ya! LOL

She walked her way down the aisle, they exchanged rings, pledged their love, and the Big kiss- Married At Last!

How Sweet it is to Love and to be Loved.

Rick and I designed a simple, monochromatic, and textured table for the wedding reception. The chairs were mahogany chiavari chairs with white dupioni silk cushions. The linen on the 40 foot table was a custom white dupioni silk with a custom made chartreuse green runner down the center of the table. It was fresh, simple, and elegant- just what they wanted.

The glass cylinders were filled with shades of bright green and crisp white flowers. Each cylinder was wrapped with a lilac satin ribbon and crystal, square broaches in the middle. Autumn wanted a little glitz to her moder, garden wedding. This was the perfect place to add just of touch of glam.

Come Fly With ME! Rich and Roxy Chirico

Talk about an amazing Love Story. Not too long ago These two random individuals met at a restaurant in Miami - He was from out of town getting a bite to eat and she was in between appointments trying to grab a quick lunch. One thing led to another and they soon went on their first date. Who would have known that despite the face that they lived thousands of miles away, they would make it through- enough to realize they were soul mates.

We used their love story for the inspiration behind their engagement Shoot. The extremely talented and none other Martha Ramirez from UDS Photo came up with the idea for them to go totally "Casablanca" in an airplane hanger with vintage airplanes. This shoot was planned down to the tea- literally! Photographers, Hair and make Up, Videographers etc were all present to shoot this ultimately unique engagement shoot. So, now that you got a taste of what an amazing wedding we put together for Rich and Roxy, here are the details... Thanks to Martha Ramirez and Christina Mendoza from UDS Photo http://www.udsphoto.com/ for thier amazing work. The images are breathtaking.

This is all you Christy! Rock it girl!

Roxy with her bridal party. I love the color combination she choose for her bridesmaids. It was such a rich color and it complimented the Gothic, yet extremely elegant wedding we designed for Roxy. She knew exactly what she wanted- well colors that is. Hot Pink, Red, Black, and More RED!!!!! Right down my alley- something different, a bride is not afraid of color and she is daring, and wait- red! My favorite color- a match made in heaven =). As you saw from the video, they are very very much in love. Together with her color scheme and the Gothic yet ultra chic reception style she was going for, I had my hands full- I love a challenge and we nailed it if I must say. Roxy and Rich were overwhelmed by excitement when they saw it all put together. The guests were in awe!

So, how amazing is this centerpiece to the place card tables? Pave' roses and tons of candles... what more could a girl want? It was stunning and soooo perfect for this wedding. On the left side of the table was a blown up picture of the first image on this post with "Come Fly with Me" in RED! complimented with glass cylinders and floating candles along the back side of the table. On the table were the place cards each attached to a matte silver airplane luggage tag. The place card would say, Mr and Mrs. Smith, Come Fly with Me to Dubai (the name of the table). Roxy and Richard named each of their tables places they plan to visit together. The bride and Groom's royal table was Aruba, their honeymoon destination.

On the right side of the centerpiece was a table with an antique luggage trunk with vintage postcards all scattered throughout the table. UDS made these adorable vintage postcards for the couple. It had a space for each guest to write their wish to the couple on the left and on the right, it said "Come Fly with Me, Come Fly, Come Fly Away. It's perfect for an Aruba Honeymoon they Say, Come Fly with Me, Come Fly, Let's Fly Away". I absolutely love how Incorporated their long distance relationship couple with their frequent flying to see each other into the cutest of details on their wedding day. =)

One of my favorite parts of the wedding- the decor and the details! Elongated arrangements of fresh moss, various shades of red roses, Burgundy cymbidium orchids, fuchsia hydrangeas, hyperacum berries, hand painted black and fuchsia feathers, and strawberries were used in all of the centerpieces. Oh yes, you read correctly... strawberries! It was such an amazing detail to the table. They were laid and tucked in strategic places on the table to make the look totally complete. We used a gold candelabras in the middle of each table and red champagne, wine, and water goblets to add romance and the essence of goth that Roxy wanted. The look was beautiful, romantic, and Gothic- unique and different- right up my alley.
The Menu Cards were designed in Black and Hot Pink to stand out from the Black satin napkin and black acrylic charger plates on the red/navy pin tuck linens. Custom-Made dupioni bands were made in red to accent color on each napkin. The combination was breathtaking!

Hot Pink LED lighting was used in the perimeter of the room to make the ballroom glow and added some funk to the reception style. Moving patterns in hot pink swayed around the entire ballroom giving the room personality and enhancing the romantic evening.

Candles, Candles, and More Candles. You can never have enough.

Aruba, the Main Table of the evening. Various clusters of candles, and flowers adorned the front of the table. It was just enough to not be over the top but enough to make the table look lush and compact.

The room had an interesting layout- one of my favorite ever! We used the head table against the main windows in the ballroom. Royal tables seating 24 guests "flanked" the main table on each side (diagonally). The rest of the tables were set diagonal and around the diamond shaped dance floor. Everything about it was not traditional- love it!

And she does it again! My friend Rosie is a genius, I have nothing else to say (which is so weird lol). The layers of fondant on the cake mocked the the brides dress and the buttons on the cake were exactly how the buttons on the back of the dress were. Simple, Elegant, and Perfectly, Flawlessly Stunning!

At midnight, we rolled out a six foot tall candy station filled with jars of fuchsia, red, gold, and white candies! I have come to learn that adults are more in love with candy than children are. Perhaps it is all of the liquor and partying that gets them to crave sugar!

I added this photo because it was the funniest event of the evening. Ladies and Gentleman, this is the extent that WE go through to get the perfect lighting in a room. The AMAZING team of staff there took out the long poles and untwisted every single light making the room to bright. Within 10 minutes we had the perfect lighting, it was time to invite the guests in and start partying!
After a long evening of partying, they were so happy to be married... off to Aruba!

Bon Voyage- Go Fly, Go Fly Away! Hugs and Kisses!

What an amazing journey it was for all of us who were involved in this wedding. Roxy and Rich, you guys are the cutest and I wish you nothing but the best all the days of your lives. Casa Casuarina ~ Jackie Ohh... Style

On April 4th, 2009(and the hottest day of the entire year might I add) Tom Chillot and Kristi Crisafulli tied the knot at what is known as South Beach's most treasured property, Casa Casuarina (the mansion of the late Versace). This home is more a museum than an exclusive hotel. With only 7 suites, it is the most exclusive venue in all of South Florida. Together with his two beautiful children, Tom and Kristi partied the night away with their closest friends and family whom all of which flew in from all over the world. Congratulations and We wish you the best.

Giant 13 foot trees lined the backdrop of the ceremony. Although the pool made of bizzaza tiles made of 24 carat gold are amazing to look at, we wanted to create a scenery that not only would compliment the property but would be classic, simple, and unique. Clusters of over sized hallow candles At this venue, less is more!

I am all about the details! Each family members seat had their name on a heavy card stock paper tied with an elegant satin ribbon. Not only does it make the chair look pretty, it assures the family members that there chair will be reserved for them and they will not forget where they sit after they walk down the aisle. The seats second row were not assigned however each seat had a reserved sign attached to it. It worked great and looked beautiful!

In lue of favors, the bride and groom wanted to send a monetary gift to three charities. Each of their guests were able to print their name on these charity card and chose the charity of their choice. Frames were place on this table describing each of the charities and the reason the couple chose the particular organization. After the wedding, the couple made donations to each of the charities in the names of the guests as per their choice. It is such a great idea to donate to charity instead of giving out trinkets. The participation of the guests really gets them involved and makes it so much more personal and meaningful.

Although every aspect of a wedding is my favorite part, I would have to say the decor is probably my all-time favorite part of the wedding. Even more so when the ceremony location gets transformed into a completely different look for the reception. If you notice, the ceremony looked modern and clean and the reception is soft and flowy. This gives the guests the constant element of surprise, hence more Wow- Factor.

Chef Dale Rey prepared the most amazing menu for this wedding. The first course was a carpacio of Maine lobster, then the first of two main entrees - roasted filet Mignon and following with pan seared grouper! I thought that the guests would not be able to eat two entrees but the food was so amazing, they all did! I couldn't believe it!

The couple was very easy going when it came to the decor - they put it in all in our hands. Rick Interian and I both worked on the details to make this reception spectacular. When they saw their sample and loved it, Rick and I knew we had struck gold! Simple, elegant, all about the details- it made the reception fit right in with the gorgeous mansion. Avant Gardens did a stupendous job putting together all of the floral details for the wedding.

Hanging candles were added to these huge trees that now set the stage for the bride and groom's head table. Using candles and blue lighting, were able to create the perfect ambiance; The essence of romance is so important to maintain at an outdoor, evening wedding. We did not use pin spots in the tent since the look of this wedding was more soft and flowy. The saturated hues of blue and the tons of candles used in the table filled the clear tent with just the right amount of like and made the entire reception glow (hence not needing the extra enhancement of pins).

Miniature crystal buckles were placed through black velvet ribbon and tied around in each glass cylinder. The buckle and ribbon accent made each cylinder have character and added a sparkle factor. I love love love using buckles, then again I love using anything that sparkles! =p The hallow candles that were used down the aisle at the ceremony were moved to various locations around the reception. Again, using the same element in a different location for a complete different look. I try to re-use items as often as I can; however I make sure it looks different somehow.

This spectacular cake was designed by my favorite confectioner, Rosie Cunille. Amazingly she took smallest fabric sample of the Bride's Oscar de la Renta gown and replicated it perfectly on the cake. Adding crystal accents to each flower was just the right touch to make this cake out-of-this-world amazing! It truly was flawless and prob. one of the prettiest cakes I have ever seen. What is a party without a little entertainment? Not my type of party at least! These performers were great! they actually did acrobats with the brother of the bride! It was enjoyable and hilarious. The entertainment was the greatest ending to an amazing four course dinner and the ideal beginning to a true South Beach PARTY!

One of SOBE's premier Club DJ's spinned the best of old school jams and top 40 hits. What an amazing Party!

The Kendell Wedding

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Kendell. These two love birds love the outdoors and being absolutely wild! From hunting, riding their motorcycles, traveling, and speeding through Miami in thier Ferrari, ths couple love to live on the wld side. The first time I met Maggie, I knew the wedding was going to be unique and very much about how her and her hubby to be were so in love. No matter where you were that day, their love for each other caught your attention. Congrats you two! I wish you nothing but happiness and joys all the days of your lives.

Custom linens were made for Maggie and Glen. She wanted to match the baroque black and champagne linen she fell in love with for her royal table. Bruce Barbaree found the perfect match and vua-la! Custom Linens, napkins, and chiavari cushions.
Weeks before the wedding, Maggie had decided on what she wanted for her centerpieces until one day we were doing our final walk through and we came across an event her florist was doing in Granda. She walked in and her eyes went straight to this rustic yet modern and chic design. The centerpiece below was tweaked from the original design, we had to make it Maggie's style!

Candles were something that Maggie and Glenn insisted on having candles all over the wedding reception. The essence of romantic candlelight was further enhanced with deep amber hues throughout the room. What did we do before lighting?

Everyone knows that cakes are one of my favorite things in the whole world. Well, imagine when the cake is THIS funky!?! I love that Maggie and Glenn were adventurous and completely out of circle of the aspects of "traditional" weddings. We got so specific on the zebra print- it had to be authentic and very real. The red roses in between the tiers was the perfect accent to make this cake amazing! It was the centerpiece of the whole room; the cake really brought the decor together.

Enhanced lighting on the band makes the guests more into the actual performance of the band. It adds variance in the room and makes the band pop rather than blend in with the wedding decor. Let's Party!

The Minto Wedding- My Valentine

Welcome to the Brad and Kirsten's Wedding. On Valentine's day, these two love birds pledged their vows and had a celebration of a lifetime at the Beautiful Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. This was a very unique experience for me; I worked with Brad, the Groom the entire time. I have not ever had the pleasure working with the groom as much as I did for this wedding. I thought it would be challenging being that I was so used to working with the bride, it was actually great! Brad knew exactly what Kirsten wanted and together their ideal for their dream wedding was one their guests would never forget. They did not have a theme per say but if I were to put one to this wedding, the theme would be "Nothing I have seen Before". From a Hollywood style Step and Repeat to a custom tailored band, everything was out-of-this world gorgeous! Enjoy!

Can you say CUSTOM? Everything everything everything was custom made for this wedding. From the stationary to their linens, and even the centerpieces were never used before... it was all made, designed and built for Brad and Kirsten. This is like candy to me! We had so much fun designing the look for each aspect of the wedding. Brad is a very detailed "dude" and together with an overly detailed wedding planner, DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS... it makes it all come together. Right Bradley? LOL

Prior to the guests entering the cocktail hour, they walked on a Hollywood style step and repeat. We used red stations to rope off the area, a long ruby red carpet, and bright lighting. The step and repeat wall had the Biltmore Hotel logo, the date, and Brad and Kirsten's names. It was so much fun watching all of their guests taking pictures the entire hour.

So, here it is... the centerpiece that was so big it didn't fit in the elevators. Typically, centerpieces of this magnitude are built on site, but this was a tedious task. I was exhausted from watching the designers strategically place over 400 french, red tulips perfectly aligned in 5 rows and 7 feet in length. It only took 3 hours to make all four- Phew!

Red, my favorite color... and the color of LOVE- Happy Valentine's Day! Individual tulips were carefully placed on each side of the royal table to compliment the center design. The sleek look of the sides was a perfect combination. We had to make sure it did not distract form the center... in this case less was more. =)

Custom black linens were made to fit each 24 foot royal table. Custom runners were also made with a new slate fabric on the market. It was finished with black borders to match the linens. Black square chargers, red dupioni cushions, and napkins and black chiavari chairs finished the tables. It was a risky color combination, but thankfully Brad and Kirsten were the couple that was not afraid to be daring. Gorgeous!

Brad and Kirsten have traveled the world together - we used their favorite places as the names of their tables. Since there were so many out of town guests, the table names coincided with the guests at that table. The guests seated at the table above were all from New York. Such a cute detail.

Round tables were placed in the middle of the royal tables. A manzanita branches hanging glass crystal tubes, hanging candles and lush florals sat in the middle of each table. The material we used for the runner on the royal tables were made floor length as a different look for these tables. The combination was stunning!

Many brides ask me, "what goes on in the room while we are cocktail hour?" Last minute touch ups and final meetings. Here I am with my staff, testing lighting for the final time and Libido working through the final sound checks and reception details.
You might not have noticed, but each picture below were different color lighting. We used "cool" color changes throughout the night. It was a great addition to the "party" atmosphere Brad and Kirsten wanted to have at the wedding. Intelligent lighting has been one of the best things introduced into the event industry. The versatility is inspiring.
I thought I would end with Banana Cake... yum! The couple fell in love with this sleek design for the cake. It tasted even better than it looked... if you can believe that.

Brad and Kirsten, What a journey! I told you it would be perfect, the evening was so amazing. It is definitely a wedding that not only your guests but your vendor team will never forget. It was so great meeting both of you. Brad, thank you for being daring, risky, and non-traditional.

What a week! I got back from Vegas last Thursday... it was such an amazing experience! Over 500 people gathered together on Wednesday at DreamWorks Studios in Vegas for the Event Solutions Spotlight Awards and Catersource CATIE Awards. It was truly a surreal feeling to be together with the Best of Best in Event/Wedding Professionals. There were over 35 categories of awards, some of the finalist for other awards came from Miami! It was great seeing them there. Congratulations to all of the finalists and to the winners. It is a great honor to have been selected for such prestigious awards.

My Cousin's Getting Married This Weekend!

Spotlight Awards in Vegas!

Howdy Ya'll! I am in gorgeous Las Vegas for the Event Solutions Conference and the Spotlight Awards Gala this evening. I am so excited to be here with my amazingly loving and supportive husband and family. We are all so excited for the Gala this evening. Zera and David Lefkowitz

My Christmas Bride and Groom! Zera and David were married on the 28th of December and what was such a gorgeous day! These two amazing people were truly put on this earth to be together. They met at the University of Florida (hence the Grooms cake below) and have been together ever since. They are such a funny couple, they even have their own language which I quickly learned and adapted when speaking with them. I'll never forget the day when I was working on their file here at the office and my hubby was looking at something on my computer. The file was opened and a printed e-mail from "Z" and "D" that said " Ilu boo, gt off da fone wit da booger-ito, says hai lva". He laughed so hard I ran over to see what was so funny. He said to me "Babe, how do you understand what this says?" What was funnier was that my response e-mail was in their language as well.

Here are some pics from the wedding this past weekend. It was so romantic and very, very Z and D. They are so much in love and we wanted that to show all over the wedding. It's more than what they expected and I am so happy to have been such a big part of over exceeding their expectations. Have a great Honeymoon in Playa Mujer Boogas. I can't wait to see you when you come back. Hola lvas! LOL

Fresh Flowers Anyone?

I love the color RED!!!!!! What an amazing combination; classic ladies, swartzwalder callas, mango callas, black magic roses, and red cymbidiums. We lit the entire room in a deep hue of red to enhance the LOVE in the room.

Zera and I broke our brains on what to do for the place cards. We both knew we had to come up with a great idea, new and fresh. I came across a picture of inspiration and this is what came of it. Our florist did such an amazing job bringing the idea to life. We did not want to use curly willow or manzanita branches as are very common now a days. So, what is this branch? It's super cool huh? Well, can you keep a secret? So, can I! =) I'll give you a hint... what looks like berries on the branches, really are not berries, the branches actually grow like this. Z, awesome job with the place cards.

Each guest had a small, espresso box with delicious chocolate delicacies inside. The bride and groom's monogram was places outside and a gorgeous satin brown bow and red berries added the perfect touch of decor on the favors.

A tuxedo folded, double fabric napkin was placed on each gorgeous, red charger plates. The custom-made menu cards were beautiful and the perfect enhancement to each place setting. A satin ribbon lined the bottom of the menu to perfectly match the decor.

The tight cluster of flowers was placed in a modern, over-sized glass cylinder. Four tall, cylinders boxed the center of the table and filled with rose petals and floating candles. Six votive candles were strategically placed on the tables. Between the candles and the red lighting, the room was the epidemy of romantic.

The stage was transformed into the bride and groom's table, the cake table, and the groom's cake table. The chuppah was over the bride and groom table. The hanging candles and mirrored crystals shined from everywhere in the room. It was definitely the center of attention in ballroom.

My favorite Part... the Cake. Zera and David chose a simple design for their cake, a chocolate cake with beaded swiss in royal icing and a beaded boarder around each tier. The florist added these gorgeous black magic and luscious red roses in between each tier for drama. These roses are so gorgeous they look like sugar!

Before the bride and groom left for their honeymoon, I transformed the place card table to a farewell sparkler display. Each guest got their sparkler and waited for the Z and D to walk down to their car. The pictures of this came out amazing! Happy New Year loves!

A little funny note: Z and D are what I call comedians- on-the-side. They are the funniest people you might ever meet. David grabbed the microphone right before dinner and the deejay played the theme from Borat, his favorite movie. He proceeded to talk just like Borat and said " Hello everyone. I thank you for coming to see my and Ma Wife. I like her much more the my last wife. She has much less body hair." He kept talking but along with everyone else, we were laughing so hard, he we could hardly hear him. The groomsmen got lost for a little while. Curious to see what they were up to, I went outside and saw that they toilet papered their car and wrote funny things all over their windows. Gotta love them... who doesn't like to laugh? I live my life smiling and I love a good laugh.

Zera and David, thank you so much for making me laugh; all of the time, even when we should been serious. I knew you two were special from the first time we met. I will never forget you guys and the great time we had planning the wedding and especially at the wedding. It was so gorgeous and I must tell you D, it wasn't more gorgeous than your bride. You both are such beautiful people inside and out. I am honored to have met you and to have you as clients, and now friends. Enjoy Mexico.

Hey Jackie...We just wanted to write you a quick note to thank you for all of your help. As we were basking in all of our honeymoon time in Mexico, we were talking about the wedding, and decidedly agreed that if we had the chance to do anything different...we would...change NOTHING. It was the happiest day of our life, so intimate, so sweet, so romantic, and everything was catered and blended to our taste which was just such a nice feeling. Thank you for helping us keep our wedding intimate and personal, and the planning process so fun! We are still in shock at how smoothly everything ran, and will always be grateful to you for being part of such a flawless day.One thing we realized is that all weddings are different. There will be weddings that are smaller than ours & bigger than ours, budgets will range, tastes will be different, seasons, trends, and styles will come and go, but what will never change is the core of a wedding, and that's about the two people in love. Thank you for helping us to keep the focus of our (GORGEOUS) wedding on that essential core of us as a couple. Your efforts will always be appreciated.As our pictures start to trickle in, it is such an exciting feeling, and we are sad that we won't be able to experience the emotions and thrill you feel on your wedding day again, but it's a feeling we will never forget! Janelle and Robert Pena

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pena! On Black Friday, these two love birds tied the knot! What a fun wedding! Janelle, Robert, her family, and I had such a blast planning every detail of this wedding. You might recognize this couple from a few blogs back, their bridal shower is featured below. We went from Candy Land to a luscious, Romantic Evening. The Ceremony was held at Plymouth Congregational church in Coconut Grove. Soon after the couple said "I Do" their closest friends and family celebrated and danced the night away at the Miami Dadeland Marriot.

They say shoes make the dress, but in this case, the bride stole the show.

The gorgeous bridesmaids bouquets. I love using fern curls... they add a funky element to anything. It was the perfect touch for the bridesmaids chocolate brown dresses.

Here are the newlyweds "loungin" around at the bar downstairs. This picture is totally HOT!

And here is the main event... a large ballroom was transformed into a luscious, romantic setting. We used custom-made Crinkled, espresso, silk linens, mahogany wood chiavari chairs, fuchsia satin cushions, and to top off the table decor, a double crinkled, espresso napkin tuxedo folded in with a fuchsia, satin napkin. I really like using double napkins when there are two strong colors being used at the wedding. The chocolate was very dark against the linen and the fuchsia napkins took attention away from the centerpieces. So, we used both! I am all about finding the happy medium.

The florist did an absolutely wonderful job with the flower arrangements. This centerpiece below, I am very happy to admit was solely my creation. The sample went great however the bride and her mother, the florist and I all felt that there was more of a wow-factor that we could do for this wedding. I was in the showroom and started taking things out of other arrangements, boxes, basically anything I could find and I came up with this... Janelle and Robert loved it! My job was done! Actually, not even close... =)

The centerpiece above was placed on the square tables and consisted of curly willow branches in a large, square vase with bunches of hydrangeas, mini spray roses, and cymbidium orchids at the tips to compliment the hanging candles. Around the mouth of the vase was a round cluster of mini callas, hydrangeas, mini spray roses, cymbidiums, and pink hanging amaranthus. Four tall and thin square cylinders were placed to frame the centrepiece with submerged callas and a floating candle. Along the sides were four rectangle containers with pink crystals and floating cymbidium orchids.

This centerpiece was placed on the round tables and consisted of all the elements of flowers above in one large compact, cluster. The flowers sat on top of a round cylinder filled with curly willow branches. Hanging candles were used for the romantic factor and we spiced it up by using fuchsia, satin ribbon. Floating candles in round cylinders filled with fuchsia crystals.

Saturated Fuchsia lighting flushed the walls of the ballroom. It gave it that touch of funk and at the same time a huge boost of LOVE in the room. Each table was pin spotted to make the flower masterpiece's glow.

The cake was designed using the elements of the whispie look of the wedding invitation. It tasted even better than it looked.... many of you know how much I love cake. Yum!

LET THEM EAT CAKE!

There were so many great details of this wedding. The place cards were wooden domino boxes custom made for the couple with their names and wedding dates on it. The sign in idea was great- This couple loves Johnny Walker (well, Roberto mainly does lol) so a huge Johnny Walker bottle sat on a small table with a metallic gold marker and guests were able to sign their name on the bottle. The couple also had a professional scrapbook made with engagement pictures of them in which the guests write messages to the bride and groom. The traditional champagne toast was always something that the bride and groom wanted to make different. Waiters butler passed Mojito Toasts in a custom made mojito shot glasses to each guest. This was one the biggest hits of the night! The bride and her father danced to Mi Nina Bonita sung by Mr. Ismael Miranda and his orchestra. If that song brings you to tears when you hear it on the radio, you should hear him live. I still have goose bumps.

When you are around this couple, you can't help but laugh the whole time... they are hilarious!

Janelle and Robert, thank you so much for bringing me into your wedding planning process and into your lives. I enjoyed every minute planning and speaking with you guys everyday. I miss sending a dozen e-mails a day back and forth. Everything paid off in the end... you had an beautiful wedding, defiantly one that your guests will never forget. Your families are so wonderful. They made me feel like part of the clan right away. When your mom and dad had tears in their eyes when they walked into the room and hugged me, my heart melted for them. I am so glad that I was able to bring your dream wedding to life. I look forward to all of the events coming up in the near future.

Jackie Ohh... FINALIST for the 2009 Event Planner of the Year Award!

I am soooooooo EXCITED to be blogging the latest news! About an hour ago I found out that I am a finalist for Event Planner of the Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to VEGAS!!!!!!!

A couple of months back I was notified that my peers had nominated me for the 2009 Event-Solutions Event Planner of the Year Award. I was overwhelmed with excitement (which is not even close to how excited I am right now!). I had to submit a couple of essays, biography, pictures, and letters of recommendations etc. in order to fulfill the submission process for judging; it took me about 2 months to complete, but it was all worth it! I just found out that the judges chose me as one of the finalists for this prestigious award! Public online voting begins mid November and we go to Vegas in February to the Event-Solutions Conference. The awards gala is on the last night and we'll find out the winners there!

To all of the vendors who nominated me and all of those who support me, thank you so much. I am so blessed to have an enormous group of vendors that I am associated with. You ALL mean the world to me. The last couple of months have been so amazing. You ALL have supported me so much; I truly apprecaite it and always remember everything you have done for me.

To my family and friends- Who have to deal with me day in and day out, which I know is difficult with the nature of my business. From the time I wanted to become a planner (and everyone thought I was crazy) to where I am today, you have ALL stood by me in the best and worst times. I can never thank you enough.

Mom and Dad- you are my heroes and my role models. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you and your love and support. Thank you. AND To my husband, you are a true angel. I don't know how you put up with the craziness of my work. I love you so much for that and much more. You are amazing, my backbone and my strength.

ALL of YOU make ME a better planner and a better person. This award is not for me, it's for ALL of us!

It's finally time for me to announce to the world my new venture! I couldn't be more excited! After many months of working on this new branch of JACKIE OHH... EVENTS, here it is... ASKJACKIEOHH.COM.

I will be conducting weekly live, online chats with brides all over the nation. I wanted to help as many brides as possible, but since I am just one person, it is difficult to help every bride. This is a medium for me to give my expert advice to brides who are planning their weddings on their own. I hope to help many many brides and I couldn't be more excited to do it.

I have had many people today ask me how this got started... well here's the story in a nut shell. I get several calls a week from brides in need of advice from a professional planner. Many of them are on very tight budgets and are not able to afford a planner but need professional advice on certain issues. Of course, I speak to each of these brides and help them however I can. After this happening again and again with brides and vendors alike, I started speaking with friends about this idea of mine. I put it in the back of my mind- I was in wedding season! Then, a couple of months back, on a Saturday morning at 8:26 am, a local vendor and good friend of mine called my cell. I answered immediately being that I was getting ready to leave to a wedding set-up. I heard my friend's voice on the other line saying, "Jackie, quickly- how many steps are on the way up to the mound at Vizcaya?" I answered the question and and he said, "Thanks, it's easier to call you instead of looking it up, you know you are my search engine". ASKJACKIEOHH.COM was born shortly after that!

Love is Sweet

Janelle and Robert's shower was this past Sunday and boy, did we have fun! More than anything, everyone was a on a tremendous sugar rush! The theme was candy land and as you can imagine... we had a blast planning the details! Janelle is a very hands-on bride and loves Google just about as much as I do. I research everything .... you thought I was bad, you have to meet this bride! Together, we have found the coolest things online! It was such a great pleasure being able to work with her and her family on the shower... I am looking forward to the wedding coming up in November. Stay Tuned, I will be sure to post the pictures of the wedding.

Truly.... Love is SWEET like CANDY!

Don't they make the cutest couple?

At the shower venue, there was a platform that was placed center stage. Janelle and Robert wanted that area to be the main focus of the whole event. Therefore, we placed this Real Candy Store in the middle. The picture above is of the canopy that was made for the center of the display. It looked delicious!

Each guest received a lollipop with their name and table number on it as they walked in! So cute!

The centerpiece cylinders were filled with monochromatic colored gum balls topped with pomanders of mini roses and finished with multi-colored dum dums. Also, Janelle found an amazing contact for hand painting glass items. She bought wine cups for the women and bear pisners for the men and had them hand painted with the lollipops from the invite... super whispie and colorful. To top of the table decor, mini candy tins were filled with rock candy and placed in front of every place setting.

Here are some close up pictures of the details of the Love Is Sweet Station.

White Chinese take out stations were placed at the corners of the tables for guests to get their candy to take home. Janelle and I thought most people would wait for dessert... we were SO wrong. The cocktail hour had just ended and the stations needed to be refilled again. Obviously, it was a crowd pleaser! I'm so glad they all enjoyed it!

Hands-on and Very crafty Janelle did this great photo book for guests to sign in. Once the couples went into the photo booth, they got a print out of their pictures. They went to this station and cut the strip of pictures and pasted them in this book. It was so much fun!

Leslie and Aabad Melwani

Leslie and Aabad Melwani were married on September 27th, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church and celebrated in true style at the Four Seasons Hotel in Brickell. Leslie and I met a while back and we hit it off right away... The months leading up to the wedding were a tough challenge. Leslie was diligently studying for the Bar Exam, so her sister, Janet (a.k.a el sarjento lol) and I took over as much as we could. Once the Bar Exam was over, Leslie looked at all of our progress and made final decisions on every detail. We were very happy that she loved everything! Naturally, we tweaked some details, but overall we did a great job!

Talk about stress- On the Monday before the wedding, Leslie found out that she PASSED the Bar on her first try! We had much much to celebrate! Way to go Girl! Leslie now joins her husband in the world of litigation. They are both such amazing people, it was my pleasure to make their day so memorable and enjoyable; they deserved it ALL and more.

JUST MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!

Our florist did an amazing job! They created this stunning place card table for the sky bridge of the Four Seasons. The place cards were placed on tiny silver elephants- In the Indian Culture, (the Groom is of Indian descent) these giant, gentle animals bring good luck which the couple wanted to grant each of their guests with. Once dinner started, the table transformed into the take-home favor table... look below for the unique gifts given out.

Guests enjoyable delectable passed hors d'oeuvres and authentic Cuban and Indian stations at the cocktail hour. The presentation was beyond amazing and the taste... yummy... outstanding!The ballroom looked amazing! Leslie and Aabad wanted their guests to be wowed again and again throughout the night- I am very elated to report that we surpassed that expectation. As the guests walked into the ballroom, tiny stars and abstrace patterns floated throughout the ceiling. We attained this by using moving heads located at the back of the room. Fuchsia flushed the walls of this grand ballroom. Most of the decor was white so using the bright color as guests walked in added to the impact of beauty of the room.Three styles of centrepieces were utilized in the room for texture and movement on each table. The flowers consisted of exotic phelonopsis, dendrobium, and cymbidium orchids, hyrangeas, and white and off-white roses. Each table was dressed in white satin tablecloths and topped with elegant, beaded overlays. Mahogany chiavari chairs and white cushions finished the clean, romantic look of the tables. Each guest table was pin spotted from the perimeter of the room making each centerpiece shine!

Two of the centrepiece styles were glammed up with crystals. From each of the glass cylinders hung stands of hand-strung crystals. One by one, four thousand crystals were strung for these beautiful centerpieces. It took the florist a month just to prepare all of the strands... great job guys! Leslie and Aabad sat with their bridal party in royal style. Two over-sized arrangements sat on each side of the table and was complimented with smaller arrangements throughout the center and on the corners. Over four dozen candles were used on this table to enhance the feeling of romance. A 24 foot pipe and drape design was placed behind the stage. Each time the room changed colors, the backdrop would change to a different, contrasting color. When the band would play, the lights would change to various colors, each of which was picked by Leslie and Aabad and programmed on site. It was a small detail, but everyone noticed and thought it was a unique touch.
On each place setting, a blossom of Queen Ann's Lace was set in a mini votive holder. At the bottom of each holder sat mini crystals for a stylish touch. The guests were able to take them home as memory of the wedding.
When Leslie and Aabad saw the room for the first time, they were in awe! Aabad had no idea what the fuss of flower colors, styles of linens, and intelligent lighting was all about. He soon saw that all of the planning was well worth it; It was the wedding of the their Dreams. When the newlyweds met on the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, the entire room slowly changed to amber. "Wow" is what you heard their guests whisper to each other. It was such an amazing feeling to hear that reaction. As the guests were eating their main entree, the entire room change to a deep blue. Three sets of Latin dancers performed an amazing routine center stage. The high energy performance got the crowd excited to get out on the dance floor and party! As soon as they were finished, the band kicked off their first of three dance sets! The lighting around the room changed with with thee beats of the music. This element gave the room a night club feeling and further enhanced the mood of PARTY on the dance floor. The let Party Begin!

Everybody knows I love cake, well so did this couple! I love this design. It was so simple yet stunning! The Swarovski crystal broaches added the perfect touch to the design. From what I hear, it tasted just as good as it looked...

Anyone up for a mid-night snack? Stations of Mini sliders and french fries in white paper cones were placed in the foyer along with freshly made churros with raspberry, chocolate, and dulce de leche sauces.... delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to confess, I sneaked into the kitchen and asked the chef for a small piece... it's one of my favorite desserts... Shh... don't tell anyone lol.

We thought of everything; even giving the guests a mini espresso maker for cafe con leche in the morning. =)

As guests were leaving, they each picked up a mini cafetera. This was such a cute idea! The bride's mom purchased over 100 mini one shot coffee makers, tied a beautiful satin and organza ribbon around it and added a tiny pouchette with chocolate covered coffee beans. We had a celebrity pass by the sky bridge and compliment the table and the unique idea for the favors. She had never seen something so cute and creative.... I must agree.

La Hora Loca! Jessie and I prepared all of the hats, feather boas, maracas, crowns, etc. and took them out to the middle of the crowded dance floor. Before we knew it, the baskets of goodies was empty! The guests chose each of their props and went crazy on the dance floor- shortly after... CONFETTI! The shots of confetti from the cannons behind the stage shot at the perfect moment, as the bride and groom were in the center of the dance floor and everyone was around them... spectacular detail... and the crowd went wild!

"You Got it Dude!" Isn't the father of the bride the cutest?

Congratulations Love Birds! Leslie and Aabad shortly left to Hawaii and Australia .. they actually are still on there three week long honeymoon. I can't wait to see them when they get back and look at all of their wedding pictures.

Leslie and Aabad, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in such a memorable day. It was my great pleasure working with you and your families, yes, and even the Sargent lol- she is so great and she loves you so much. Janet, we make a great team and it was also a pleasure to work along side you as you took on the huge roll of second bride lol. Many hugs and kisses to you all and I know I will be seeing you soon.

Jeanette and Carlos Rodriguez celebrated their Dream Wedding August 9th 2008. They have been married for ten years and have 3 beautiful children together. They wanted to celebrate a "Decade of Love" with their closest family and friends and to have the wedding they had always dreamed of. Jeanette contacted me a couple of months ago to assist her with her planning and designing of this amazing wedding she had in her mind. Her vision was of a modern wedding with a clean- sleek look, yet using touches of a whimsical designs created by her team at Midtown Creative.

I had a blast working with this couple- they are a trip! Not only did they have the wedding of their dreams, but we created lasting memories for them and all of their family and friends.

Meet the Love Birds... Jeanette and Carlos

Beginning with a Wow Factor as the guests walk in is striking and can only get them ready for more. These over-sized, white lacquer boxes greeted the guests as they walked into the ballroom of the Miami Beach Shane Center. A dozen floating candles paired with banana leaves, hanging amarnathus, and exotic orchids were used to create this gorgeous, modern design.

Here is the entrance arrangements lit in Peacock Blue. As the guests walked into the ballroom, this beautiful shade of blue was flushed throughout the walls. Some of these images were taken before sundown and before the guests walked in. The walls and curtains are all white, so our peacock blue, lime green, and white lacquer color palette/design fit in perfectly with the natural look of the ballroom. Elephant ear leaves, green pom poms, orchids, and kale (yes, lettuce) were used in clusters in white cylinders. Our florist did an amazing job of mixing modern with natural, classic elegance.

Satin silk and organza matte stripped overlays laid over Peacock blue silk linens. Fruit-wood chiavari chairs, peacock blue cushions and napkins made for the ideal combination with out table decor.
Extra large paper lanterns were hung from the centers of the ballroom ceiling. It was a great accent of the decor and when it got dark during dinner, it added a great source for romantic lighting.
Jeanette designed a whipsy peacock feather design for her invitation. If you notice, there is a trend of peacock throughout the wedding. It's on purpose; the underlining theme was the Peacock. This amazing, exotic, bird who remains faithful to one mate it's entire lifetime. The peacock was such a romantic, yet funky and cool theme to design around. Love this detail!

Our top confectioner designed this magnificent cake inspired from the whispy peacock feather design on the invitations, table designation cards and menu cards. If you think the cake looks gorgeous, you should have tasted it! Yummy banana cake with cheesecake chunk filling. Gorgeous and Delicious! Carlos is a Huge Jets fan, although his brothers and friends are big Dolphin fans. Since he always has a cap on, the cake was designed as a cap n a football field. It was such a big hit especially amongst the men at the wedding. The kids loved the fact that it was chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling.
Here is Jeanette in her after-dinner lounge with her beautiful daughter. We set up a tent on the patio with ultra-modern furniture and large glowing tables; the ultimate setting for a club lounge feel. The bars were beautiful glowing acrylic structures that matched perfectly with the decor in the tent. We also lit this area in amber to make it cozy and comfortable.
Intelligent lighting was used to change the colors behind the stage and throughout the dance floor. The DJ played top 40 and old school jams in between sets. Modern zen designs floated on the walls and the dance floor area as the guests partied the night away.

Hansel and his grand orchestra played great Latin hits such as my favorite and their most favorite hit, Maria Teresa y Danilo!

The guests danced until the early hours of the morning.... amazing wedding! I am so happy with the way everything turned out. From the overall decor to the smallest details, it was a perfect celebration of a "Decade of Love".

Are You Juicy or Couture?

Happy Birthday Stephanie!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW you had the time of your life and I can't tell you how happy I am that your family, friends, and specially you had such an amazing experience.

It was so much fun working with Stephanie and her mom on her 15's bash! We started sitting at their kitchen table talking about things Steph loved. She loved everything- a girly girl. She wanted a theme to her party but something that was out of the realm of anything she had ever seen... easy task huh? Well, I had asked about a dozen questions to get to know what she loved and the it hit me... it hit me! We should do a party with two faces! It was so Stephanie- she is such a charismatic young lady and she is a party animal; she would go for my "out of the ordinary concept" She loved to shop and I noticed Juicy Couture on her. I said, what about Juicy. for the young adults and Couture for the adults. They loved the idea and we ran with it.

Isa and Stephanie have witnessed many events that I have planned and completely put everything, especially the decor in my hands.... What an honour and a challenge! Here are some pictures of the event... Enjoy!

Meet the Birthday Girl... Stephanie Rico

I designed the event in two sides. Each side's layout was different but using the same size tables (such as high 6 foot royals, High Boys, and Cocktail Rounds) for continuity, but both sides were very different. The fist was for the young adults; Juicy! The tables were dressed in a delicious shade of grape satin with chiavari Charis and stools with matching grape cushions. The glassware was all ordered to look like a modern candy store and decoratively filled with yummy candies! This was a hug hit- with the adults too!Feathers in teal and grape were utilized throughout the designs to enhance the over all look and to add a bit of couture to our Juicy reception style

The lighting on this side of the room was a deep plum to match the decor. On the sides of the walls were Hot Pink "Juicy" gobos.

Custom-Made frosted, acrylic floor tables were made for this event. We designed a cool pomander and feather boa centrepiece for these lounge areas. Matching pillows were custom-made as well to finish the design. As soon as the party started, the kids were all around these tables. They loved it!

The Couture Side! The adults were seated on this colorful and chic side of the reception. Teal blue with silver chiavari stools and chairs with teal cushions to match. Flowers, feathers, and candles was used throughout this side of the room to enhance the theme. elegant, chic couture.

Mirrored, crystal chandeliers were placed strategically in the middle of the adult reception for an ultimate wow factor! The entire side of this room was lit in teal and corresponding with the young adult side, Hot Pink "Couture" gobos were on the walls surrounding the area.
Mannequins were implemented in the decor to define the couture look we were going for. Our florist rocked the house (as always). He is amazing at gasping any idea, no mater how crazy and make it come to life. Thank you so much! Amazing Job!

Let them eat Cake! Each cake was designed differently. The cake designer did a fabulous job and making each design distinct. We wanted to make sure they looked scrumptious yet modern and chic.... A Couture and Yummy detail.

Happy Birthday to YOU!!!!

Fun Photo Station: Isa and I came up with the craziest props for the guests to wear and take pictures with. A separate photographer was hired to take pictures of the guests as they partied with their props. At the end of the night, all of the pictures were printed on site and given to the each guest accordingly as they left. I loved this great detail.... It's a great way for the guests to remember what an amazing evening it was.

They had a BLAST!

Music Videos and a live simulcast was playing on 42" plasma Tv's the entire party- loved this.... it got everyone rowed up. I've been to Amazing Parties.... this is at the top of my list for sure! Look at that dance floor. By the way, this picture as taken about 1/2 hour before the party ended.... everybody was on that dance floor the Entire night!

even at 1am they were still partying like it was 1999 ( these kids would have no idea what song that is... wow I feel old). Love love love everything about this party Isa and Steph , thank you so much for allowing me to take my crazy idea and letting me run with it. I had a blast. I look forward to future events with you and our families. Muah*

This past weekend, August 2nd, 2008 David and Natalia were married at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Congratulations guys! We had some great times laughing and enjoying the planning. This couple and I have been working together for about 8 months and it has been a blast! They are so much fun and daring- which is great! We designed a classic yet contemporary wedding reception for them. Natalia was all about the flowers and the textures and David was all about the lighting and the details. Together with their details and ideas, I created a vision for their entire wedding. I have to say, we made a fabulous team! Honestly, every single employee of the hotel came into the reception set up to see what we had created... they were all amazed. I could not be happier with the outcome of the entire day!

P.S.- the candles were not lit for these pictures- these were taken about 2 hours before the reception started.

A moonlight LED light was shining over the dance floor to create the feeling that the natural light of the moon was coming through onto the dance floor. It was the perfect touch for the romantic setting we were looking for. We utilized Intelligent lighting for this reception. As the guests entered the room, we used an amber/blush lighting around the perimeter of the room. The off white fabric we chose to drape the entire room enhanced the color of the LED's shining from below. The chandelier in the middle of the room was lit in a dark shade of blue to add contrast and a wow-factor to the reception decor. It was perfect combination with the amber and the blush. The chandelier was a huge focal point in the room therefore we enhanced its grandious look and made it the centrepiece of the entire room. I love to do these types of effects with lighting. It looks great in photos and in person, it takes your breathe away. We had a New York based stationary company design their menu cards using their monogram which Natalia and David were in love with. The tripple mounted papers and whispie design around the menu enhanced the elegance each place setting.
Each guests' Champagne flute had a different love quote that I rolled into a simple, delicate design. Each quote was placed on the flutes for the guests to read as they sat down. It was such a cute detail to the decor on the table as well. Talk about WOW. Our florist designed these new birch branch trees for this wedding. Each was about 7 and 1/2 feet from the table. They are a huge accent in the room specially with the high ceilings that the ballroom had. Each tree had over 70 white, dendrobium orchid sprays throughout the tree limbs adorned with over 2 dozen hanging crystals and finished with iridescent, amber glass votives. Each guest got this tiny favor- it's a love bean- the cutest things! Inside this box is a mini white pot with potted bean inside. When each guest takes the pot home and waters it... in a couple of days/weeks the bean starts to sprout with the word "love" on it. Such a cute detail!The bride and groom table was decorated very simple however we placed two centrepiece trees behind their table to make the entire look of the reception come together. This element of decor was an amazing detail to add to our fabulous look. Soft pin spots were shined from the roof to brighten up each work of art. The pin spots were softened to 75% to assure that romance was the ambiance in the room. It was the perfect brightness for our romantic look. Slowly throughout the dinner, the lights dimmed to a deep shade of blush/plum. This added mood lighting to the evening. Once dinner was served, the entire room changed to this midnight blue. Every guest was amazed. I'll never forget David was taking a shot from his vodka luge when the room changed and his mouth stayed open for at least a minute. He was in awe on how the room looked. He looked at me and said, "Jackie, This is incredible... You are incredible!" I'll never forget that moment- it is what I live for. I love everything about this wedding. Specially how we played with the lighting to give the guests the sensation of always having a surprise. When the Party started, the lights around the entire room would change with the music. There were cool patterns throughout the night flowing around the room. It was an incredible evening. An evening they all will never forget. Nati and David, thank you so much for allowing me to be such a big part of your wedding day; I had such a great time wotking with you both. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world! To all of the vendor team, again, thank you thank you thank you. Amazing Job! To Roxanne Campos and the Catering team at the Hyatt Regency- you guys all were great. Congratulations Laura and Richard Marquez! On May 10th, 2008, Laura and Richard had the most beautiful, spectacular wedding at the gorgeous Biltmore Hotel. The entire vendor team agrees that this is one of the most amazing weddings that the Alhambra Ballroom has ever seen. I can’t talk enough in how amazing The Biltmore Hotel and their staff (including but not limited to Bruce Barbaree, and Deborah Howard) were with us from the second we started planning up to the wee hours of the morning when we were still breaking down. Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts- outrageous job guys!

Six weeks before Laura and Richard were due to wed, I got a call from Laura; I heard the sweetest voice on the line a bit frantic, nervous, and very anxious. Laura was very stressed and overwhelmed with the wedding and had no idea where to start or what she wanted, she had planned the wedding for 2 weeks and the big event was less than 2 months away. I calmed her reassuring her that it would all get done and better yet, it would be the most perfect day she could ever dream of! Talk about TURBO PLANNING….all we had was a venue, we needed everything else- We had a lot to do and we had a BLAST planning it. There were some bumps in the road of course; their church burned down shortly after the couple had hired me, but thankfully the Biltmore was able to offer a space for us to put up at tent and house the ceremony at the venue.

We designed a crisp, modern look to the ceremony. By using a tri-colored draping design for the ceiling of the tent, it made the ceremony have life and more of a cozy, intimate feel.
Magical Moment!
The Place Card Table
Everyone knows how I LOVE to come up with unique and creative place card ideas. Laura and Richard love Disney World! They go for vacation every chance they have. However, it was the general opinion that Disney should not have been added to the decor of the wedding. In visiting the bride and groom at thier new home, I noticed tons of pictures of them... so how could I incorporate thier love for Disney and thier love to take pictures of their every memory? Caricatures! We found an artist that specialized in this type of picture rendering and we had him artistically re-create pictures of Laura and Richards favorite moments together (many of which were at Disney). They came out soooooo cute! Paper Studio miniturized them on place cards and on the back printed some fun facts about the bride and groom including pet names for eachother and how they met.... All of the guests loved this small detail.

Each table had an enlarged version of the picture so that guests could find thier designated tables. each picture was in a matt with a sharpie so that guests could leave Laura and Richard a message.
Here are some pictures of the reception... I apologize for the amount of pictures there are but I love them all and I couldn't chose which ones to post!
We used intelligent lighting to light the entire perimeter of the room in amber and lit the chandeliers and the ceiling in blue to create a romantic star-lit ambiance to the dinner.
The key to decor is to bring it all together from the bottom to the top. From the linens and rentals to the flowers and lighting, it should all come together perfectly. We carefully Chose each detail to assure that it was the perfect look for Laura and Richard's dream wedding. Lighting is essential when desinging your romantic reception. Even if it is a little bit, the enhancment of the lighting truly transforms the room and the mood of the wedding.
Our florist ROCKED! Amazing Job guys! Exactly what we wanted... PERFECTION!
Each guest received a calla lily bookmark with a small note from the bride and groom.

We chose glass beaded chargers to make the table more elegant and further compliment the of the glass that was used in the decor.

The Love Tent "Chuppah" was turned into the most picturesque location for the cake. We added two pin spots to enhance the beautiful creation in the after dinner lounge.

The ceremony tent was transformed into the after dinner lounge with pictures of the bride and groom, cigar rollers, bars, and tons and tons fo romantic candlight. We added amber lighting once the night fell to enhance the romatic mood.

Modular sections were placed throughout the 2100 sq ft tent. Guests frequently visited to casually talk, smoke, and just take in the night breeze (which was so yummy)

Once dinner ended, Miami's own Willy Chirino joined his 16 piece orchestra for a spectacular performance. He played all of his greatest hits include a personal favorite of mine, Soy Guajiro.

The entire ceiling of the ballroom changed colors with multiple patterns throughout the night.

Roberto Says Hello to Retirement

On the Evening of April 26th, 2008 Roberto celebrated 30 wonderful years with the FBI. Together with his family, friends, and colleagues, he enjoyed a cocktail reception by the water in celebration of all his hard work and years with the Bureau. Roberto called me three weeks prior to his event an wanted to me plan very detail from start to finish. It was a challenge, but after hearing his expectations and visions on how the evening would be, I quickly got to work. As soon as his guests drove into The Wave in Hollywood Beach, they were greeted by valet and a private attendant greeting them at the door. Upon entering to the Piano Room, the decor was simply chic giving the event the sense of comfy and elegant. The cocktail tables wee various heights dressed with soft blue shantung silk linens and enhanced with mahogany chiavari stools and chairs with deep espresso cushions. (I really like using dark brown cushions with mahogany chairs; it makes the chairs look more like furniture). Each centerpiece was distinct from the next. The florist incorporated soft and medium shades of flue stock and hydrangeas and incorporated dark brown leaves to give them a chic look. To enhance the décor on each table, we added candles for ambiance and elegance. At the left hand side of the room, we set up an “L” shaped bar where guests were served an unlimited variety of specialty drinks made to order. The caterer prepared delicious cocktails throughout the night. As the night got later, the food got heavier until an hour before the set to end. They then started to pass gourmet mini desserts and “cafesito cubano”. The food was beyond delicious and the presentation was phenomenal. Roberto and his guests were beyond pleased and that makes me more than happy. Roberto, thank you for letting me and my team create the perfect event as you bid a due to your career and hello to enjoying your “beach time”. =)

FIU Women's Studies Tropical Day in Paradise

April 6th, 2008 in the Esserman Estate in Coconut Grove the FIU Women's Studies Organization hosted a Tropical Day in Paradise. The night before was so rainy, but Sunday couldn't have been better for a day event. The colors were fuchsia and Teal with accents of yellow, lime, and plum. The guests enjoyed cocktails while listening to a live steel drum player and looking out to the ocean. The silent auction was very successful and the event overall was a total hit! I look forward to many more events with FIU and the Esserman Family.

Caja Madrid Cocktail

I had the great pleasure of working with Borja and Ana Morube on Caja Madrid's Bank Conference Cocktail at their private home in Key Biscayne. The house is a zen inspired home with amazing modern architecture and a view of the ocean that leaves you speechless. The night of April 4th was great and breezy... perfect weather for a party!

As the guests entered the home, they were greeted by Caja Madrid's logo and a beautiful pathway decorated with tons of hallow candles.

We designed a great layout for this outdoor event. Half of the pool was covered with an acrylic floor that was lit from the pool changing colors every 15 seconds. The production company did all of the production of lighting, draping, tenting, and the pool cover. On top of the pool cover was an all white, grand circular bar. The smaller cocktail rounds were covered in white dupioni linens and the high boys were covered in lime green dupioni linens to add contrast and to match the color of Caja Madrid. Mahognay chiavari stools and chairs were used for seating and added an elegant and modern touch to the decor. The house was lit in chocolate lighting to add color contrast and for a ambient look. Our florist for the event did a great job at all of the floral decor. We used a variety of all types of white orchids to enhance the event and to match the modern look of the house. One of my favorite elements was the hundreds of handles hanging from the banzai tree in the garden.
The furniture rental company that we used provided all of the acrylic bars white, modular furniture we had spread throughout the lawn and the dock. We had them make us green pillows to accent the furniture and to further accentuate the green theme for our clients.

The food was amazing! The Catering company and her staff did a great job! The food was not only scrumptious but what an amazing presentation!

Cristy and Mark Williams

Congratulations Newlyweds! Cristy and Mark Williams got married on March 15th, 2008. After many months of planning, the big day was finally here. Our first stop, the beautiful St. Patricks Catholic Church in Miami Beach where the couple started promptly and said their "I do's". Next stop, the JW Marriot for the much anticipated reception. Cristy and Mark wanted a fresh, romantic feel for thier room using hues of pinks, greens, whites, and chocolates. Enjoy!

HIS & HERS

At 6:30pm on the dot, Cristy walked down the aisle with her dad to meet her groom. The church was filled with family and friends and the ceremony was gorgeous. We still aren't sure what happened to Mark, but he started sweating profusely throughout the ceremony. The priest got a bit worried about him so he asked the church assistant to get him some water. A couple of sips afterwards, the ceremony was back on track. Phew! You gave us quite a scare there Mark! Glad you were okay. A couple of minutes and a long kiss later, they were married!

After they took quick pictures with their family, they were off to JW. Jessie and I awaited them downstairs where they had a private cocktail hour to relax and take some time to take it all... they were finally married. As the guests got to the main floor of the ballroom, they were greeted by a gorgeous arrangement of green apples and baby pink hydrangeas. The table was filled with tini green apple candles with each guests names attached to it. It was an amazing table presentation; every guest had something to say about it.(Sorry about the picture above. It was was taken by me on my digi =p)

After walking into the cocktail hour, guests were enjoying the live piano, eating, drinking, and watching the cigar roller roll cigars for the wedding guests. All of the men were around that table at some point within the hour. It was great! Some Details of the Reception
The custom designed menu cards and the CD favors After their private cocktail, Marlyne took Cristy and Mark downstairs to the lobby for some pictures by themselves. Our lighting company provided us with the uplighting and pin spots around the ballroom. We almost always use lighting at every wedding/event we do. It adds such an amzing touch to the ambaince and the feel of the wedding. Shortly after, around 8:45pm, Cristy and Mark walked into their room for the first time. I'll never forget the looks on their face when they saw how it had come together. (This probably is one of my most favorite moments at a wedding.) They stopped on the dance floor and just starred out to the ballroom as the band played a romantic love song. They were in wow, gave me a big hug, and started walking around the room to see everything. They loved it all and so did their guests. "Wow" was defiantly a word I heard a lot that night. We could not be happier that everyone was over joyed with the wedding and how it came together... beautifully.

The florist did a great job in the arrangements for the wedding. It was exactly what Cristy and Mark wanted. The linens and specialty rentals were just the perfect combination to tie it all together. We rented off white shantung underlays with white palette overlays, mahogany chiavari chairs with off white shantung cushions, off white shantung napkins and they accented it with a beautiful green, satin bow to match the decor.

During Dinner Jessie and I transformed the Place Card table into a To-Go Breakfast in Bed Table. Each guest took one box on their way out. The box was filled with delicious cuban pastries including Pastel de Guayaba, Queso, y Carne with two Croquettas (uno de jamon y el otro de pollo). The Guests loved it and it was delicious. The wedding overall was beautiful and al of the guests had a great time. Cristy and Mark and their families are super happy which makes me even happier! Congratulations Jenny and Jon! I worked my second lead coordinator and assistant Jessica Vega and Jill Ramirez at Biltmore Hotel for Jenny and Jon's elegant and Gothic-inspired wedding. Jenny is my best friend, Marie Napoles' baby sister. I have known Marie, Jenny, and their family since I can remember. It was truly an honor being such an intricate part of their wedding planning. So, enough of the sappy stuff, back to the details of the grand event....

All photographs were taken by Manolo Doreste for In Focus Studios http://www.ifstudios.net/Jenny and all her bridesmaids got dressed in their golf suite at the Biltmore Hotel. The bridesmaids looked stunning in their custom made plum gowns and the bride shined in her Italian gown. I got a call from Jessica telling me, "Jackie, everything is perfect, however the Groom is bit more than nervous, but I have it under control". After our usual pep talk and a couple of jokes later he was great and ready to get married. All of the flowers were amazing... our florist did a stupendous job as always. The ceremony was great and of course "the kiss" was great. Meilan is famous for his first kiss.. gotta love him. The wine and pre-cocktail started 3:15 out on the southwest terrace overlooking the Biltmore Pool. (The Biltmore is one of my favorite venues to work at. The staff and the service is beyond amazing.) The entire cocktail hour was white with the cutest floral pomanders to accent the tables. The cocktail hour started shortly after at 3:45- the food was awesome and the bar was packed! Manolo from In Focus did a beautiful matt book for the cocktail hour for each guest to sign on.
I love to add accents as details of the wedding that are all about the bride and groom. I came up with a great idea for the place cards and table cards for Jenny and Jon's wedding. Jenny and Jon love movies... well actually, to them movies are "cinematic adventures". Together we got the layout and started putting her guests in tables of 10s-12s. Based on the guests at that table, we chose movies that pertain to the guests seated at the table. For instance, there was a table of guests that were all firefighters and their wives; that table was called "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry". The DVD covers were all sent out to Paper Studio who printed an amazing image of the DVD cover as a "Table name" for each table. The place cards were also elegantly designed by Paper Studio. (I love working with Natalie. She has great ideas and is able to make our unique and creative ideas come to life. She truly is an amzing paperie designer.) They were white movie tickets that said "Your Cinematic Adventure is... Scarface" (each mini envelope had was hand calligraphy with the couples/families name on it and inside there was a ticket for each person). This mini element was the talk of the wedding.

We infused the gothic elements mostly around Jenny and Jon's table with the floral enhanced, rustic iron candleabras and the modern yet dramatic fire place mantel floral piece. Amazing job on the flowers!

The Alhambra Ballroom was completely lit in a romantic shade of red with the dance floor and the stage let in blue with intelligent lighting and moving heads showing Gothic patterns around the ceiling of the Biltmore Ballroom. The red darkened as we got into the night. Once it was about time to Party, we were at the perfect shade of black-magic red. We did this to create a starry night effect... worked like a charm. We chose a black satin linen for all of the tables, with baroque cream overlays. All of the chiavari chairs were black with red dupioni cushions. The tables were amazing.

As always, theis florist did an phenominal job creating exactly what we wanted. His creativity adds such a personal touch to everything he does. The centrepieces were giant curly willow trees in various heights with orchids and hanging candles on them. The bottom of was a circle filled with tons of shwartzwadler and red mini callas, red and black magic roses, and mokara and nora orchids in red. Glass, silver beaded chargers and red dupioni napkins to match. Jenny and Jon were in total shock when they walked into their room for the first time. I love to take them in once the candles are lit so that they can take it all in when nobody is around. The food and service was amazing and the music was phenomenal! Every single guest was on the dance for the entire night booty dancing and all! Amazing, Amazing, Amazing Wedding!

The linens were something straight out of a castle. No detail was left untouched. You guided us in the right direction the whole way through. We still could not believe how fabulous the planning, design, and over all production was. Our wedding was just beyond our expectations!!! Jackie, you achieved the exact look and feel we wanted to create and it was even better that we had ever imagined. Words could not describe how grateful we were to have you and your team be a part of our big day. Your services were invaluable.You made our wedding day the most spectacular day of our lives!

Meche and Alejandro Perez Duque

Congratulations Meche and Alejandro! What a perfect day for a wedding! It was a clear yet breezy day in Brickell, Miami. Meche and Alejandro saw each other for the first time in the lobby of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. She looked stunning in her Monique Lulhier Gown. After taking pictures alone and with their close families, they headed out to the St. Jude Catholic Church! The florist designed a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding with giant branched trees with orchids and hydrangeas. There were many family heirlooms at the wedding including a huge mantilla that went over the kneelers, two baroque seats in front of the altar, on a hundred year old Victorian rug. Each guest received English hand fans and custom made programs as they walked into the church.
The 250 guests arrived at Villa Regina's Briggs Room around 4:30 to a 1 and 1/2 "tea time" where they were served international teas and coffees, mini tea sandwiches, smoked salmon, exquisite caviar, and traditional Venezuelan cocktail hors' doeuvres out of the terrace overlooking the ocean. The terrace was designed with gold and champagne baroque linens and over sized, ivory market umbrellas. Yes, there were plenty of "tequenos" the entire night. At 6:00 pm we opened the three stations indoors for guests to enjoy while they chatted and danced the night away. The arrangements were an amazing array of flowers from ivory to dark coffee colors presented beautifully in silver vases.

Meche and Alejandro love love love Candy! The couple brought candies from all over the world including Torontos, Suzy's and Cocosettes, Gomitas, and Ping Pons etc. It was a huge hit with the guests. They kept saying, "Look! Suzy's and Cocosettes!". Everyone was amazed that so much work was put into getting candies from all over the world for the candy station.

The flowers we various heights throughout the outside terrace and in the main room. Every single centerpiece was different from the next. Again, the florist did a stupendous job and making our English Tea Party wedding reception come to life. You walked in and felt like you were in an old English village. I love the color combination we used throughout the wedding. The silver touches really made the decor look rich. I could not have been happier with the way everything turned out. Our clients Meche and Alejandro beyond thrilled so that made me happier than ever.

The dessert display was phenomenal. This table needed to be the center of attention. We had a dessert chef make mini lemon cookies, Blondie's, Brownies, mini guava cakes, fruit filo pastries, and chocolate delicacies all presented in various silver trays and platters. Together with the amazing florals and gorgeous English Tea Party looking Dulce Leche and Cheesecake cake from a great friend of mine and execllent cake designer, it was the most photographed aspect of the wedding, well other than the bride and groom, of course.

The wedding was a huge success.Meche, Alejandro, and all of their guests raved about the food, the music, the decor, and basically the entire ambiance of the reception. they danced the night away until the late hours of the night. After an amazing day filled with joy and love, Meche and Alejandro left the next day to Hawaii! Yay--- another wedding gone beautifully as planned and executed!
